Nervous Is An Understatement!

The countdown has begun. It is now only 27 hours until showtime. That means that in 26 and a half hours I will be freaking out...BIG TIME!!!
The fashion show begins at 8pm tomorrow night. According to Mrs.Leonard, the fashion show is going to be our main selling place to sell our Mini Company product. The idea of selling a product that we made with our blood, sweat and tears is terrifying!
8pm is also the time that the start of my modelling career commences. Okay, maybe I wont become a model, but who knows, it could be the start of something new?
As you can see my blood pressure is sky high at the moment. Having to model AND sell our products is daunting. I can't wait to wake up on Wednesday morning and say "I did it". This statement doesn't stay with me for too long because I have to do it all again that night!

Christmas Caroling?

Model? Yes, That's Me!

Last Thursday I got the exciting news that yes I would be performing in the fashion show as a model. I filled with delight as my friends got accepted too. We are surely going to give Victoria Secrets a run for their money!
I have always been interested in fashion and make-up from a young age. Saturdays nights were spent watching how my sister applied her make-up and copying her the day after. Although the first times were never too successful, second and third attempts always seemed more promising.
The saying "Passion For Fashion" applies to some people but it is definitely right up my street! I eat, sleep and dream clothes and just love to shop. It has become quiet an obsession but hey, it's what I enjoy.
My sister has told me I should start taking pictures of my outfits and start blogging about them. At this time I wouldn't have the confidence but who knows what might happen in the future? Maybe I will soon become the next So.Sue.Me (Irelands leading fashion and beauty blogger)

How To Save A Life-The Fray

During the summer I sat in my room wondering what interesting hobby I could take up. Seeing that T.Y was going to leave me with a lot of free time I wanted something fun, fascinating, maybe even exciting. One thing that came to mind was to learn how to save a life.
In September, I became a member of the life-safety class in K-Leisure, Naas. You learn everything from performing C.P.R., to towing people in the water with ropes. Warning! Compression's on mannequins are a lot more difficult than they seem.
I recommend this class to all as its a great way to meet new people-boys included! It is also a great life skill to have. Nobody can tell the future so who knows who could need your life-safety skills next?

Feeling Festive?

Buy Our Product....Please?

Being in T.Y, you must compete in a little project known as "Mini Company", but let me tell you its a lot harder than it seems!
Light-bulbs were flashing as soon as the idea of creating a business was announced. But as soon as we got down to the real deal the ultimate question kept arising "How could we make that?"
Our group came up with the idea of candles in a jar. Who could resist the temptation of having candles put in decorated jars ah?
My main aim of this post was to promote our product. We would appreciate if you could buy as much candles in a jar as physically possible. Maybe they'd come in handy when in comes to the 20th of December and 'WHAT DO I GET MY MAM FOR CHRISTMAS?" is screaming in your head!

Dream It, Believe It, Achieve It!

I find myself wake up some mornings with dreams I could never imagine. How did I even think of that? Sometimes confused, other times amazed and thinking "Could I actually do that?"
I once dreamed of myself wandering the streets of New York with my Michael Kors handbag in one hand and my IPhone 6 in the other. I had just gotten offered my dream job of becoming a stylist. Who could imagine that they would choose me?
Of course this was all just a dream. As I have just wrote in my previous post, I am currently penny-less due to the recent River Island sale. Who knows? Maybe some day I will be throwing my money around not knowing what to do with myself because as Walt Disney quotes, "If you can dream it, you can do it!"

All Dressed Up But Nowhere To Go!

I have just been through a weekend of a lifetime-A SECRET SALE!
It was a boring Sunday evening with nothing to do so my mam very kindly offered to bring me to Liffey Valley. An offer to shop, I couldn't refuse.
As I excitingly walked to my favourite shop, I couldn't help but notice a large sign that had taken over the window with the four most powerful letters used together to create a word-SALE!
I couldn't believe my eyes. How had I not heard of this before? I felt as though I was Robin Hood on the hunt for a new outfit!
My search was a success! A new top couldn't be bought without a skirt to match and so two purchases were bought! Although my purse is now empty, I am very pleased I spent it wisely. Now I just need an event to go to!

How My Time Is Spent!

I am someone who needs to be busy...CONSTANTLY! The idea of sitting all day wouldn't appeal to me. Therefore my hobbies are quite jam-packed!
To your surprise one of my hobbies is to clean. My mam often refers it to O.C.D but I prefer to use the word "tidy". Having two boys in the house can make it very difficult but after cleaning their room, you can feel like you've just conquered the world!
Another hobby of mine is to keep fit. Anything from running, walking or even playing "Just Dance" on the Wii (which although is old, provides a lot of entertainment). Swimming is also an enjoyable activity and I have recently just started a Life Safety Course.
Baking is one of my passions. To be able to put so much effort into baking a cake and then eating it as a form of reward for all your hard-work, who wouldn't love it?
Finally on my list is fashion. From shopping, to reading magazines or even having my own little fashion show in my room creating outfits in my room, I just love it all! My style is quite different and unique because I believe it's essential to show your personality and what better way to show it than in your clothing!

Me, Myself and I!

My name is Zave. I am currently in T.Y in St.Wolstans. As much as I'd love to say I live in New York and I find it difficult to choose which Ferrari I should drive to school in, I sadly can't.
To tell you the truth though, I do love my life Ferrari or not! I actually live in a detached house in Clane with my dad, mam, two brothers and my sister. We get on like a house on fire but sometimes we feel like killing each other but Hey, what family is perfect?
My favorite colour is pink. My bedroom therefore is pink from head-to-toe but if it makes then boys wink then what's the problem!
My ultimate favourite meal has to be a mighty chicken burger and chips from my local chipper. Thinking of it now makes my mouth water.
My favourite time of the year would have to be Christmas by far. Cosying up by the fire, with a cup of tea in hand, surrounded by family, what more could you want? And to make things even more exciting its Christmas in just over a month. Let the countdown begin!

You Cant't Live A Positive Life, Without A Positive Mind

Last Friday, October 10th, was "Positive Mental Health Day". It was a day where negative air was nowhere to be found in the school of St.Wolstans!
Our school organised a "Walk In Our Shoes" day, where all the students wore the funkiest shoes possible. Let me just say some students gave Lady Gaga a run for her money!
Mental health is a silent but deadly illness. It captures many people and takes some people off guard. This can make it very difficult to, as Taylor Swift says, "shake it off"!
This day made me aware of the great number of people suffering with their mental health each and everyday. If you are suffering in silence make sure to seek help. As the saying goes "A problem shared, is a problem halved".

My Wishes As I Type!

If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It!

Walter Elias Disney was born on December 5th, 1901. Little did his parents know that as they signed his name on the birth certificate, that it would become one of the best known signatures in the world!

Walt Disney has created many films over the years as a producer example Mickey Mouse and all the Disney Princesses. He has gone on to create a well known theme park in Florida known as "Disneyland". Although he is famous for his theme park, he is also known for his inspirational quotes.
If you can dream it, you can do it
This quote really makes one think. If you, as a child, had endless dreams of becoming a superhero, go do it! If you believe you could be the best superhero there is, get working because I bet a young Andrew Garfield (aka Spider man) had many nights of himself dreaming he could save the day!

Fish Are Friends, Not Food!

"Fish are friends, not food"

Last Friday the clouds were opened and the rain was just left to pour. This resulted in our annual Funwalk to be held on the earlier time of Thursday. On hearing the news alarm bells were ringing, "HOW ARE WE GOING TO HAVE OUR DANCE READY?????"
Being the organised class that we are, we successfully made up a dance that I believed was 'winning material', but sadly we lost out. Class Aurora won the T.Y prize with Mr Kennedy's attempt at being Maleficent.
The school came together as one to perform for each other. Each year group had a certain colour and so students dressed appropriate. It wasn't just students who dressed up as teachers got in on the act too. Mr Lawless bravely dressed as shark for our dance and taught us all that "fish are friends, not food".
That particular caption suited the Fun Walks theme of 'friendship'. Friendships are important to us all. To have a friend to lean on in times of need or even for a giggle now and again is a necessity. So think friendship not just for the week in school, but for the whole year round.

A Hard Days Work At The Office!

A Hard Days Work At The Office

I have just begun my first day as a working lady in at Milk Cafe in Clane. I can honestly say it was one hard day!
I was welcomed by the owners of the cafe and presented with my uniform consisting of a blue t-shirt and a grey apron. With my uniform on I felt as though I was ready for work!
I was shown around the cafe and then began my working day as it was all go! I presented people with their menus, served people their food and made tea for those who needed a time of relaxation.
I was then shown how to fold cutlery properly and by the end I was a pro! I cleared the tables and made them so clean you could see your face in them!
Lunch time finally came and by that time I was starving. I was kindly offered to choose anything I wanted from the menu which was an offer I just couldn't resist. I was given the wi-fi password and was told to "make myself at home."
It was a very busy day and you were on your feet from the word GO! I can tell you one thing that I slept well that night!

The Power Of The Internet!

The Power Of The Internet

I have just finished watching the video of "Digital Dossier". I was shocked at the huge amount of information we have online without any realisation.I have now begun thinking of all the information strangers around the world could know about me.
I am currently on Facebook. Snapchat and Instagram. Each day I view these Apps as a form of keeping in contacts with friends, hearing about the latest gossip and seeing how Starbrucks have spelt someones name wrong...again!
I was unaware of all the information about me online e.g My hospital records. It never crossed my mind that this information was out there in the world of technology. Technology has taken over the world and so it got me thinking "How did people live without the Internet before?".
The Internet is more powerful than we will ever be. It provides us with a huge amount of  anything we need to know. It's a great source of entertainment but you just have to remember never put something online that you wouldn't want your granny to see!

There Ain't No Party Without T.Y!

"There ain't no party without T.Y"

An early start was had on Monday morning as it was a 7am meeting time. Suitcases were packed with clothing and food...lots and lots of food! It was a two hour bus journey but I can honestly say it was totally worth it.
It began by us all getting into our wetsuits and heading out into our canoes. We played games with the instructors and yes, Gerry our instructor was very pleasing to the eye.
We then got into our 'camonsie' (which is a camouflage onesie) and headed up a mountain which seemed like an eternity. Laser tag really showed the competitive side of our class. That night we had a blind folded walk which was honestly my favourite activity of the trip. Night+blindfolds+forest+friends=Funniest experience of my life. This late night adventure was ended by a disco. Moves were busted and I think Mrs Leonard was highly impressed with our dancing.
An early start begun with alarm bells. To ease the pain of grumpy, sleepless girls, they tried to play catchy music to entertain us-but we were having none of it. Again we all hoped into our wetsuits and hit the ocean with a bang. I have never been so cold in my life and did think I was going to die from hypothermia!
The last activity of Carlingford was a trip up the mountain for a bunch of mini games. I can honestly say that Carlingford has been one of the best experiences of my life. I have made new friends which I hope to have for life. It was an adventure that I would recommend to all ages.
